Call for Contributions: Annual Bulletin 2026

Dear Member,

Subject: Invitation to Submit Contributions for the Annual Bulletin of the Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists 2026

The 35th Annual Scientific Sessions of the Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists (SLCM) is scheduled to be held from 10th to 12th August 2026. To coincide with this prestigious event, the College will publish the Annual Bulletin of the Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists 2026.

Objectives of the Bulletin

The Bulletin serves as a vital platform for our community to:

  • Encourage the membership to conduct and publish high-quality research.
  • Support and improve the clinical practice of microbiology in Sri Lanka.
  • Share professional experiences to enrich and upgrade local standards.

The bulletin will be published as a printed version as well as online

Submission Categories

The Editorial Board invites members to submit contributions in the following categories:

  • Review Articles
  • Research (Original) Articles
  • Articles
  • Case Reports
  • Abstracts for the Annual Scientific Sessions

Review articles, research articles, general articles, and case reports are published exclusively in the Bulletin and cannot be presented at the Scientific Sessions. Conversely, scientific abstracts published in the Bulletin must be presented at the sessions as either an oral or poster presentation.

Review Process & Quality Control

To maintain high academic standards, all manuscripts will undergo a formal peer-review process. The Editorial Board will appoint a panel of experts representing various specialties, and each manuscript will be evaluated by two independent reviewers. Acceptance is contingent upon a successful review and adherence to the prescribed formatting guidelines.

How to Submit

Please submit your contributions electronically to the Editorial Board at: office@slmicrobiology.lk.

  • Email Subject: Please mark for the attention of the Editor, SLCM.
  • Format: Manuscripts must be submitted as Microsoft Word documents.
  • Requirements: Ensure the manuscript is accompanied by the completed Cover Letter, Checklist, and Title Page.
  • Hard Copy: In addition to the electronic submission, A signed hard copy of the Cover Letter [SLCM-JD-FRM-001] must be submitted to the College Office. Please be advised that submissions will not be processed unless the hard copy is received.

Submission Deadline: All contributions must reach the College Office on or before 19th March 2026.
