Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming various fields, and medical microbiology is no exception. This review explores the current applications of AI in medical microbiology, including its role in diagnostics, drug discovery, and public health management. AI has the potential to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and speed of microbiological testing, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes. However, problems related to data quality, algorithm interpretability, and clinical integration must be acknowledged and dealt with for widespread implementation.
